2017 PCLA Elementary School Girls Rules

Clarifications / Emphasis


   US Lacrosse Girls Youth Rules should govern all PLCA Girl’s lacrosse games.  The US Lacrosse Rule Book can be found at http://www.uslacrosse.org/rules/girls-rules.aspx.  PCLA has amended / emphasized the following rules:

  • All girls games at the Elementary School level will be played in a 7v7 format, plus a goalie.

  • All elementary school games will require a 2 pass rule (attempted).Officials will be informed of this rule before the start of a game, and asked to regulate it on the field.

  • The 7v7 field will be 80 yards long, by 40 yards wide.

  • The Goal Line will be 30 yards from the midfield line leaving 10 yards between the goal line and the end line.

  • The midfield line will serve as the restraining line.There should be a maximum of 5v5 on the ball side (each team holds 2 defenders and 2 attackers on their respective sides)

  • There should be a regulation goal circle and 8m arc.A 12m arc is not required.

  • Games will be played with 2 Attackers, 3 Midfielders, 2 defenders and 1 goalie.

  • 20 minute running halves.Each coach gets 1 timeout.

  • Draws will be taken after each goal.If there is no draw circle, at the start of a draw officials should place 2 midfielders a “reasonable” distance from the draw spot.Defenders and Attackers will start the Draw inside their 8m arc.
